*Guest Post* - Eye Shadows For The Eye Shadow Shy.

By Brightowngirl @Brightowngirl
Hey peoples!  I’m Catrine and you can usually find me at unnakednails.com but when the lovely Alice tweeted asking for guest posts I couldn’t refuse!  This is me popping my guest post cherry so I thought I’d talk about something different from my norm; that being eye make-up!  So brace up and here we go:  I know this doesn’t apply to everyone and there will be many of you out there who can build a smoky eye to rival Sam’s and Nic’s but I am NOT one of them!  I am a LAZY daisy when it comes to eye shadow!  I tend to concentrate my efforts into lips and nails; the fun things (in my opinion).  When it comes to eye shadow I’m not the most patient and because I’m not well practised at it, I’ll be honest; I’m not very good! All of that layering and blending and using a gazillion different shadow gives me anxiety!  Hehe! So when products like this rear their head I am all over them!

I am talking about the Mally Eye Shadow Sticks!  One quick sweep of these bad boys and the eye lid is simply ‘made up’!  I have four of them and I find them super easy and versatile.  They are a cream stick which you use similar to a pen and even serious make-up novices out there will have no problems with them I’m sure!

Here are the colours swatched:
*Guest Post* - Eye Shadows For The Eye Shadow Shy.All of the shadow sticks have a metallic finish which is my preference.  Again, I know some matte girls will be like ‘meh’ but personally I love a lil shimmer and sparkle and these are just that; they have sheen without being glittery and giving you disco lids!  Twilight – this is the least metallic from my lil collection.  It’s a perfect brown because it’s fairly neutral in shade.  It’s not a warm brown by any means so I think it’s very wearable for most skin tones and eye colours.Antique Taupe – this is a warmer shade than twilight but warmer as in ‘golden’ as opposed to any tones of red.  I mean come on, red on an eye lid?  That’s just asking to look tired isn’t it?!  I find this shade the most versatile from the group because it can be used day or night without fear of looking over done or not done enough.Firework – I’d almost describe this shade as a champagne color as its soft, delicate and really quite multi-tonal due to the metallic.  Think of ‘half baked’ from your UD palettes and this is the cream equivalent.Purple Rain – I have brown eyes so I can be scared of color because personally I don’t think much goes with brown other than more brown!  But I don’t mind purple at all; I think it brightens the whites of my eyes and makes the brown pop a lil more.  The swatch of this looks fairly dark but when it’s on the eye, trust me when I say it’s definitely purple.  The metallic sheen to this is just perfection and it’s my go to smoky eye for an evening look.  These eye shadow sticks can be worn as one solid lid color or you can mix and match BUT without fallout and fifty 217s!  I literally whack whichever color onto my lid, grab any old brush and ‘smoosh’ it in.  Something that takes me approx 5 seconds looks like I’ve blended like an artiste.  Win or what? Also, I’ve not even touched on how long these shadows last.  I don’t need a primer despite having oily lids (although I do tend to wear a primer because I have milia on my eye lid but that’s another story...) they don’t crease and they’re comfortable to wear.  Mally herself describes them as ‘bullet proof’ and says ‘they don’t come off until you take them off’ and I COMPLETELY agree.  I have awoken many mornings after the ‘night before’ to find my eye shadow still in place.  My hair might be a different story but the eye make-up... perfect!  Hehe!Mally is available from QVC UK and you’re in good company shopping with her as she’s Beyonce’s and J-Lo’s make-up artist... and who wouldn’t wanna look like them?!So there we have it!  My first guest post; thanks Alice for trusting me to be on your bloggy!
