I am looking for a pair of driving shoes aka car shoes. "What are driving shoes? I mean aren't all shoes driving shoes?" Good question Hungry Husband. Let me explain. The Original Car Shoe was invented by Giovanni Mostile and patented in 1963. He combined his two passions - race car driving and Italian handicraft. Basically the car shoe is a de-structured moccasin with the sole assembled together with rubber plugs. In other words, the rubber plugs create a bit of distance between the sole of the shoe and the pedals. Not to mention, providing better support and grip (ya. you need this).
I personally love that you don't have to compromise on style (even though the car shoe is a flat) and it never ever goes out of style (Prada owns the patent now). How adorable are these? It's hard not to feel like a kid in a candy store.
I especially love this Gucci version for under $200. Think this would be a great box to spot under the tree. Ahem ahem.
