Gray Day, Sunny Disposition: Buying a House Outfit

Gray Day, Sunny Disposition: buying a house outfitIt's a rainy day in the river city. I'm not a big rain fan. Yesterday I biked home in the rain. It was OK, not my favorite activity. If I'm going to keep that up I need some rainlegs, my thighs got the coldest and most soaked.
Anyway - today is the day we signed our lives away to a bank in exchange for a house. Our own little sliver of the American dream became a reality today.
So what do you wear to this momentous occasion. All other huge life events have certain dress codes, weddings, graduation, birth, death. What do you wear to sign papers for a house? Something professional? Something domestic?
I decided to go with something cute, sassy and fun.
Paisley floral print dress (Dotty May's Closet, gift from my darling husband), gray cable knit tights, gray booties (sale section of Target circa 2009), thrifted gray silver braided skinny belt (Thrift Town), heather gray cardigan (Christmas gift from my mother in law) and silver ruffle purse also a Christmas gift.
Here's how things went down at the special paper signing ceremony:
This is us getting ready to sign.

Hopefully everything will be a go for us to move in on Tuesday or Wednesday. I can't believe we're so close to being home owners!
