Graduation Wear

By Thecurlycasualista @curlycasualista
Finding the perfect dress to wear for graduation is a big deal! Whether it's your big day or you are in the audience, everyone from friends to family will be watching and photographing you. Even though, if you're the graduate, your dress may be covered by your robe for part of the day, there is plenty of time for it to be shown off! I've gathered together my favorite dresses in a variety of price ranges, all of which are super cute for the day of mortarboards!

Things to keep in mind:
  1. Graduation robes are usually dark colors (mine were red. RED.) Keep an eye on the weather, and if rain is in the forecast wear darker colors or remember to bring a poncho to wear either under or over your robes. Yes, that's lame, but it's better than ruining an outfit with a giant stain from where your robe bled.
  2. The temperature in May can vary. If your ceremony is outdoors, bring layers in case it's cold and water in case it's hot!
  3. Wear sunscreen!
  4. If your ceremony is outside, you may want to wear your newest 4in spikes, but you'll probably sink into the grass. Wedges are a great, and spring-appropriate, alternative.
  5. Carry a small purse or clutch. I made the mistake of lugging around a huge bag and it got annoying!
Congrats, grads!
