GPS Tracking Software Downtime

Downtime is not something that many business owners or fleet managers remember to ask about when looking into GPS tracking software. This is certainly a topic that should be addressed. When your business is going to rely on GPS tracking software as part of it’s daily operations, it needs to be there 100% of the time.

What is Downtime?

Downtime is used to refer to periods when a the software is unavailable or fails to provide or perform its primary function. This is also known as an outage. Downtime can be due to an unplanned event or routine maintenance.

Either way, downtime is bad for business, particularly for fleet managers that are relying on the software to run their mobile workforce. The software can look nice and have a lot of features, but what good is any of it, if it’s not fully reliable?

Does GPS Insight Have Downtime?

GPS Insight does not have any unexpected downtime. When GPS Insight does routine maintenance and server upgrades, our customers never see the impact of the software not working because we have redundancies in place to ensure we can smoothly “cut over” while upgrading any particular part of our system.

Even if other factors prevent a customer from logging in or accessing any part of the GPS tracking software, every bit of tracking information is still being recorded and will never be lost.

Do Your Research

Ask the GPS tracking companies you are looking into about their downtime and talk to one of their current customers about it to get the real scoop. You don’t want to be stuck in a contract with a software that goes down frequently and have no option except to wait out your contract to find something better.
