As soon as I saw this book, Good Good Father by Chris Tomlin and Pat Barrett, I knew I just had to have it. You see, the wonderful praise team leader at my awesome church and his beautiful wife recently received a gift from God – their baby boy. The colors for the baby shower many months ago were black and white with a splash of what I call aqua. (I’m not sure of the correct name of the color, but that’s what I’ll call it here.) An added theme for the shower was that lions were included. We had so much fun putting the decorations together, so whenever I see anything that includes lions, I immediately think of that baby. This book has the other angle too – I mean come on, Chris Tomlin wrote the book? Again, my mind went to our praise team leader. I couldn’t imagine a book that would be more in line with beautiful baby fondly known as #hankchuck.
Chris Tomlin has written songs that are sung by more people on a weekly basis than any other songwriter in the world. Now, his most recent single and K-LOVE “Song of the Year,” Good Good Father, lends inspiration to the children’s picture book of the same name, available Oct. 4, 2016. This delightful story is Tomlin’s first book for children, co-written with Pat Barrett, and will leave little ones with a greater understanding of who God is and of who they are because they are loved by Him.

In my haste to get the book over to the baby’s parents, I failed to get a picture so I could post it here. (Okay, it’s true – my haste was to get that baby in my arms and cuddle him up, and give the parents the book.) From what I’ve been told, they love the book and will enjoy reading it with the baby when story time comes in the future. (I included a little lion since it seemed to go so well.)
