Good Eats: The Porch

By Kels_chaz22 @kels_chaz22
The other night I had the pleasure of dining at the Porch in Dallas. It was such a treat! This lovely little gastropub is perfectly situated in between eclectic shopping spots and other specialty restaurants all in the heart of the Knox Henderson district. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, a great place to meet up with friends after work or bring a love interest for a first date. The wait was approximately 40 minutes when we arrived around 8 PM, but it was well worth it.

I started out with a Blood Orange Margarita... it was no less than fantastic. Everything was so fresh and paired perfectly with our appetizers.

The Spinach and Parmesan dip was one of the highlights on the menu, for me at least. It was once again, fantastic, as was everything else we had.

I am a HUGE calamari fan and the Calamari and Rock Shrimp Fritte Misto did not disappoint! I loved how there was calamari AND shrimp, and the Lemon Aoli was divine.

I enjoyed the Prime Pork Chop which was served with whipped potatoes, cippolini onions, and a browned butter cherry sauce. The whipped potatoes were a little lacking, but the pork chop more than made up for their dryness. Maybe that's a sign that I shouldn't be eating carbs anyways..Hmmm..

My boyfriend followed the suggestions of others and ordered the Stodg Burger. Apparently this is "THE thing" to order here. His favorite part? The egg that came with it. Yum!
