First, go through your pantry and refrigerator to find ingredients (its more fun this way, trust me). I used the ones pictured below along with some onions and carrots. One thing that you can't fudge on is chicken broth. Make sure you have 2 big cans of chicken broth!
Melt a stick of butter and brown the onions and carrots.
Add the chicken broth.
Next, add your veggies! 
Turn the heat to medium and let the soup simmer for about 20 minutes until everything is nice and hot!
