Golden Gingerbread
Welcome everyone, I just wanted to let you know that I entered the Your Best Recipecontest. If you are interested in signing up go on over to Spicie Foodie where Nancy can give you all the information you need.
Now that we got that out of the way, on to my post.
This is one of those surprise recipes that you were not expecting. I got the recipe and modified it from a book called The Bread Machine Bible.  It was one of those recipes where you have all the ingredients in your pantry. I modified this so that you can bake it in a regular oven instead of your bread machine. The directions were referring to a bake only option which I don't have on my machine.
This is not your typical gingerbread in the sense that it doesn't have the heavy cinnamon taste that we associate most gingerbread's with. It is a bit lighter because baking powder is used for the leavening agent. Oh by the way, it does have ground ginger in it. Please give this recipe a try, I think you will be glad you did.
