“Let’s go to Givet.”
That was the answer that I got from Lars on a Saturday morning in the beginning of October when I asked him where we could go for an excursion. I had no idea where Givet was. I had no idea what we could visit there. Lars himself had only been there in his childhood and he could remember something funny about a border control. That was all. But we left anyway and 90 minutes later we were in a small French village not far from the Belgian border:

We immediately went to the local tourist information office, but it was closed. For a long time, because of construction works. So we had to go to Vireux:

We had to wait some time, since the tourist information office only opened at 1 pm, so we went for a walk. With the dark clouds above us, things looked a bit gloomy.
