The GIS Programmer – Analyst’s key responsibilities will include:

Working from the Edmonton office in Alberta, the GIS Analyst will:
• Conduct GIS analyses;
• Perform scripting, programming and automation tasks in conjunction with the development of custom GIS Applications, databases, and webmaps;
• Produce required custom maps to staff and clients;
• Troubleshoot and recommend GIS system improvements;
• Work with existing clients and attract new clients to LAT60;
• Provide GIS support to external customers; and
• Provide technical support to field and office staff.

The following is a list of qualifications we are looking for:

• Degree or diploma in GIS or with core GIS coursework (such as Forestry or Environmental Sciences)

Experience and skill set requirements:

• 2 – 5 years experience with ESRI toolsets;
• Experience with scripting, and programming including familiarity with Python, C#, Vb, net, SQL, and RDMBS;
• Environmental or Forest industry experience is considered an asset;
• Experience working with AutoCAD an asset;
• Experience in surveying / geomatics is considered an asset;
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills;
• Strong organizational and time management skills; and
• Ability to provide a proactive, solutions-based approach to GIS issues.
