Sometimes a girl just needs a timeout. She needs a strong drink, a handsome bartender, and some girl talk. Enter: Timeout Tuesdays at Donatella Restaurant and DBar. It’s a grown-up girls night void of men, motherhood, and meetings and it takes place every Tuesday at 5:30pm.
Long-time girlfriends Donatella Arpaia (Iron Chef judge, restauranteur, and author) and Malena Belafonte (international fashion model, performer, and TV personality) launched the event in early May of 2013 to provide a weekly oasis for women to mingle with old friends and make new ones.
Between power-points and playdates, it was near impossible to coordinate schedules. After many attempts they realized that it had to go in the calendar. Hence- weekly timeouts! Now, they attend almost every week to greet their guests and knock down a few of the signature Timeout Tuesday cocktails.
Whether you’re new to New York City or have been living here for years, this is a great opportunity to meet some fun, successful women of all ages. Many women come alone, while others attend in pairs or in a group. Regardless, everyone is there with a smile on their faces and arms wide open.
