Girl Talk: Hormonal Ups and Downs

By Bren @Virtual_Bren

Here we go with the #GirlTalk warning so men or women, if you don’t want to know, don’t click to read. ;)

Well it’s been a few weeks since we last had a Girl Talk discussion and after recent events, I thought it was time to bless ya’ll with yet another ride on the Hor-Mone Roller Coaster!

Now don’t forget to strap yourselves in!

Hormonal Ups and Downs

So if you’re like me, you calculate just when your monthly visit from Aunt Flo is coming. I’m sure some of you can pinpoint it to the date, if you’re on birth control pills; and others, a round about date.

If you remember my previous post Girl Talk: When is Enough, Enough? , my visit came early and lasted 2 weeks of muckity muck muck! So this month I was totally prepared to start my bc pills that my good ole Lady Doc prescribed for me, however, it’s now been 26 days since that MONSTER of a cycle and still NOTHING!

I’m starting to think either I did enough last time for a couple of months OR I might not be getting a visit at all? What the sam hell?!

Yes my girly friends, it’s all part of this dang roller coaster that I had no option of not getting on. I’ve been made to ride it and I have no control over my destination AND I DON’T LIKE IT!

The other night I looked at my hubs and said “Can you please tell my period to come on already!”

He was like “What? You never want it to come.”

“Yes, but I’m late.”

He gave me a puzzled look.

I told him “Don’t worry though. If I’m pregnant you better get ready to call the Pope because it’s definitely an Immaculate Conception!” :)

So when I mentioned it to a good friend of mine, she asked “Any chance you’re pregnant?”

At this point I had to giggle and being such a visual person, I envisioned my convo with my hubs the previous night and told her about my “Immaculate Conception”.

Then I corrected myself and said “Unless you can get prego in your dreams.”

She “LOL’d”.

Then my thoughts raced back to the numerous dreams I’ve had in the past several months.

“In that case, it could be one of many HAWT celebrities!” ;)

She thought it might make for a good post so to my friend…… Thank you.

Now this isn’t the only thing going on right now.

I’ve been feeling so overwhelmed lately. I get overwhelmed reading blogs, keeping up on other social networks, and finding my happy place. I’m also having restless nights of sleep, my hubs is snoring more now and really irritating me, and to top it off, a bunch of drama ridden folks at work.

I’m wondering if this is all part of my escalating menopausal state or I’ve just had enough of the bs in my life and am getting to old to deal with it.

I’m also starting to wonder, with all the blogging and social networking stuff, am I just letting life slip by?

For those of you who are “riding the roller coaster” with me, do you find you have less patience for things and irritate easier than usual?
