Get the Look! Blue Wedding Inspiration Board

By Claire

I’ve been playing with the gorgeous pics though, and I think you’ll love the inspiration board I made from Neil Redfern’s wedding photography. I’ve also added a gallery for you to see the pictures larger at the end too.

I can’t get over what a brilliant job Louisa did with decorating the village hall for her wedding reception. Friends and family were a great help – Louisa said, “I had a team of wonderful friends and family who helped me put up decorations bought from eBay, including organza lengths of material, chinese style different coloured paper lanterns and metres of bunting made by my mother in law and bridesmaid!”

For the top table Louisa used a white table cloth with a blue cloth over the top, in the centre. Everyone had a white napkin tied with a printed, personalised navy ribbon to which she’d attached a handwritten name tag in navy blue with white writing.

The flowers were really pretty and colourful – with white gerbera daisies as the main flower in glass vases on every table, the top table had Louisa’s wedding bouquet of white gerberas, smaller blue flowers (spot the rubbish wedding blogger!) and those fantastic red chillies giving a splash of colour!

With all the sparkle from the wine glasses and water jugs on tables, the only final touch required was mirrors laid flat on tables with little tealights burning brightly and reflecting through the room. The overall effect: lots of blue sparkle and a clean but very pretty reception room. Try wedding table lighting from Confetti to brighten up wedding tables.

Louisa had two wedding dresses: her Alfred Angelo gown for the day, and that fabulous Vivien of Holloway dress for the evening celebration! Her navy platform shoes added a little kick to her style – and I love her sense of individuality. Top tip – choose wedding shoes you LOVE!

Other blue wedding details included the cupcakes – with white cream icing in blue paper cases they look fab. You really can’t go wrong with a cupcake display on a stand like Louisa’s. Find cupcake stands at www.cakescookiesandcraftsshop.co.uk or see what you can find on eBay.

The final touch of blue was the wedding post box, which was decorated with a navy sign and white lettering. Postboxes are fun to make and also readily available to buy online – try www.carolmillerdesign.co.uk if you’re looking for a pretty wedding post box in the UK (or view her wedding post boxes collection on facebook)

Thanks again to Manchester wedding photographer Neil Redfern for all the gorgeous photos I got to play with! See them all in the gallery below (for close ups)
