Fryars, aka Ben Garrett, has unveiled his new single ‘Cool Like Me’, produced by Luke Smith (Foals, Depeche Mode)
The track premiered as Zane Lowe’s Hottest Record last night, and serves up a cool slice of summer with its electro-pop vibes, flourishes of house piano and soaring strings to amp up the chorus. Speaking with Zane, Fryars gave one bit of pre-listening advice:
“When you’re going to put it on, if people can wind their windows down and feel the breeze – I think that’s going to enhance the track!”
The 22 year old producer and singer/songwriter is currently co-producing material with Lilly Allen as well as Prof Green. Be sure to check out Fryars in session at Maida Vale, as well as performing at Islington Assembly Hall London on October 10th
‘Cool Like Me’ is available now on iTunes, with an album due February 2014 through 679 Recordings. Having been three years in the making to reflect the changes in music today, this is one track certainly worth waiting for.
