We froze our butts off today, well I didn’t because I refused to go outside other than to go grocery shopping. The store was a zoo, why do I forget about the Thanksgiving food chaos?
Today the carpenters came to work on Grandmas bed, they are balls to the wall with the Wednesday deadline coming up. The forward cabin is looking fabulous and hopefully we’ll get the mattress in in time. Pete the welder was also here putting in some gates in the cockpit to secure the transom from little people from going down there while we are underway. The electric winch on the mast also got welded on and Carl finished wiring it up. IT WORKS!!
Pete and Carl also welded a bar across the arch for our future bimini.
The girls and I were trapped inside (with the carpenters) due to the freeing weather – high of 42. I know for some that’s not that cold but for us coming from Mississippi and constantly checking on the weather in the Bahamas its far from comfortable. We sang, danced, made cookies and read books – while listening to impact drills.
I’ve started stocking the boat with all sorts of goodies and learning what fits where. This is where you discover how much useless packaging is involved in products these days, our laundry tub was piled high with garbage by the time I was done.
Messing around with the girls waiting for daddy to come in from the cold for dinner and (store bought) brownies. Take note of the seagull water filtration system, no more buying bottled water for us! LOVE IT!
Pri is showcasing the wonderful custom doors made by the carpenters – thanks Patrick and Jesse! We love them! I don’t know why but the girls go to bed easier with doors which in turn makes our nights peaceful.
