I want to start off my 2013 blogging year with a discovery of the end of 2012, the most amazing Effaclar DUO Correcting and Unclogging Anti-imperfection Care cream from La Roche-Posay. I bought it basing on great reviews from Ruth Crilly (www.amodelrecommends.com) and Tanya Burr (www.tanyaburr.co.uk) who were both most impressed with its performance. Like many girls in the world, I'm not completely happy with my skin. It changes a lot during the year. My skin can be oily, combination, sensitive, blackheads are a pure pain; I also get spots but I never had any very serious issues with it and most of the times a good cleanser, exfoliant and moisturizer could make my face happy. I was a lucky girl who had no idea what having acne means. Untill the summer of 2012. My first encounter with adult hormonal acne and closed comedones. My first acne scars. My first 'dreading to face the mirror' experience. I tried it all, even tried not to apply any cosmetics to my skin, the acne and closed comedones just kept reappearring. Situation improved when I bought Advanced Night Repair by Estee Louder, I finally saw results, applied it religiously every single night and my skin started clearing up. And then I was watching YouTube and one of my very favorite beauty bloggers Ruth Crilly mentioned Effaclar DUO, she said it helped her loads and I was amazed I never tried it before, being a La Roche-Posay lover myself. Tanya Burr also told her viewers in one of her videos she loved it and that did the trick. December brought me Christmas spirit and Effaclar DUO.
This cream is 2012 Allure Best of Beauty Award Winner in Acne Treatment category and for a good reason. It contains Microexfoliating LHA that evens out the skin texture, Micronized Benzoyl Peroxide that canpenetrate pores and clear them out from within and of course La Roche-Posay spring water to soothe irritated skin and lessen the redness. I noticed results after approximately 5 days (10 applications, since I was using it morning and evening). My skin cleared out, closed comedones started getting smaller, acne scares and spots started diminishing. My face looks lovely and smooth again and I don't need as much make up to conseal all the imperfections, a light layer of foundation and a little consealer can make my skin look fawless again. Loving, loving, loving Effaclar DUO! Now it's been almost 3 weeks of Effaclar face cream domination in my skin care routine and as I've already told you, it amazes me how powerful it is! Yet, it didn't dry out my skin and it makes a great base for make up. Top of the line product! I'll look into other La Roche-Posay items from Effaclar range. Most impressed!
