Over the past weekend, I had the opportunity to see Noah Baumbach’s, Frances Ha. The movie follows the life of 27-year-old Frances (Greta Gerwig), who never gives up her dreams no matter how hard things get. It gets so bad in fact, that she ends up lying to those around her about how painful and lonely her life becomes. Frances Ha is filmed completely in Black-and-white and is a little bit of a throw back to youth-centered movies of French New Wave filmmakers, particularly Francois Truffaut and his Jules and Jim.
