Four years ago, John brought a celebratory meal he'd cooked to the nursing home where I was recovering from multiple injuries. We were neither of us feeling particularly cheerful after Clinton's defeat in the Electoral College, but it was our 53rd wedding anniversary and we were celebrating, dammit!
This year we'll celebrate whole-heartedly. I have Josie today so the Eggs Benedict and champagne breakfast is out, but we'll raise a glass this evening--to ourselves, to our family, to the coming administration, and to all the folks who voted for them. Keep on keeping on!
