Forever 21 Makeup Sponge | Beauty Blender Dupe?
A few weeks ago I took my friend to the mall to help her choose some new clothing. I knew it was going to be a difficult trip when she showed up about forty minutes late without telling me (being late is in an Desi person's blood). If you are reading this, you know who you are, no shame. She was apologetic about the situation, but that is not the point of this post. I just think it was a funny story.
While we were shopping I had only one item in mind, a big red scarf. That I did find, which you can see here. It was not until our second trip to F21 that I was cruising through the compilation of beauty products in the check out aisle when I saw this. A virtually identical dupe to the notorious Beauty Blender! The Beauty Blender is an evil product because it works so well, but costs too much >.< The makeup products from F21 are either a make or break for me. This is sadly a break ;_;
The first thing I noticed when I got it was it was a beautiful sea foam green color, after I noticed that it goes down hill. When I felt for the first time it had a plastic-feeling surface. It was very firm, more firm than my makeup sponges and other beauty blender dupes I own. I went to the bathroom, where I ran under water, thinking that the plastic surface would not stop the sponge from absorbing water. It really did not change from a firm texture to a supple texture, which is a no-no when it comes to a any sponge in general. I tried puncturing more holes in it with a needle thinking it would be more absorbent, which did not help.
I tried to apply concealer using the sponge, but it soaked up the concealer. Which makes so sense considering that the sponge rejected the water.  After that, I tried to clean it, but it just did not work out. Ahhh~ so sad :(
Bottom Line: I would not recommend anyone to buy this sponge because it defies the natural components of a good makeup sponge.
Thanks for reading-XOXO
