I wanted to come here today and talk about how my marathon is only a little over a week away, how training is going, how excited I am to race.
Instead I woke up this morning, hoping that yesterday's events were a dream. But the news on the radio quickly dashed those hopes. I'm saddened, shocked, and appalled that someone could do this to innocent people.
The Boston Marathon is usually a day of triumph and celebration. What I am trying to take from yesterday is the strength of the running community, the courage of all the first-responders, and all the people that are coming together to support Boston.
We will persevere.
