Ok! So. Sorry peeps. Apparently my body (which has never really dealt well with jet lag in the first place) really doesn't deal well with it at 27. When I say I was out of sorts, exhausted, and in no place to even adhere to my wake-up schedule - much less a blog schedule - I am not exaggerating. But, after two glorious days of rest, I am feeling much more myself. Good thing, too. These are a busy few weeks coming up.
This is an outfit I wore to the beach (clearly) near Carmel-by-the-sea, i.e. the cutest seaside town on earth. I want to move there immediately. With one caveat: that it's sunny more. Apparently it's warm and sunny all of 5 days of the year. Not exactly my idea of a "beach town" but the beauty of the coast and the adorable town almost makes up for it. Thankfully I had picked up this light sweatshirt at Target after arriving in CA because it came in handy in the fog and chilly wind. I haven't been so cold on a beach since random Septembers in Maine where beach season had long since fled. Someone (ahem, Kusy) did not tell me clearly enough what the beaches in Northern California are like. As in, there is NO SUN. WHAT KIND OF BEACH IS THAT (apparently the sun does appear in the afternoon, except on days when I am at the beach and want to be warm and go swimming).
At least I got the opportunity to wear my bathing suit again (I'm obsessed with it, I want to wear it as clothes - is that normal?) this weekend at the pool. Which is now closing for the summer. Wail. It's August!
