S.S Rajamouli’s trilingual film ‘Eega’ starring Nani, Samantha and Sudeep which released on Jul 6th worldwide in 1100 screens to a thunderous applause, has managed to create enough buzz at the box-office.

The film which was made on a budget of 30 cr garnered up to 16 cr on the first day of the release. While the film dropped a little on its second day, it registered another 16 cr on Sunday, making the weekend’s collection to 32 cr said Trinath, a Hyderabad based trade analyst.

K. Jagdish, GM, Distribution, Suresh Movies said we are awaiting collection numbers to come in from around the globe however from what we’ve learnt from our local distributors and trade analysts; the film is doing extremely well.

Talking about the film’s success Mr. Sanjeev Kumar Bijli, Joint Managing Director, PVR Cinemas said “Eega has clearly created a stir amongst movie lovers. The innovative script with outstanding state-of-the-art technology used in animation and computer graphics, by the renowned South director S.S Rajamouli has created a new benchmark for the Indian film industry. The actors too have done a stupendous job and the film keeps the audience engaged throughout. It is doing extremely well in our theaters and has kept the box office collections ringing.”

He also said the film clocked approximately 50 lakhs in PVR cinemas across the country with occupancy ranging between 80% and 100%
