Lately my main concern with a top coat is its dry time. I don’t think I’m alone in that as soon as I paint my nails, I always need to do something that will inevitably ruin my freshly painted nails. Usually I have to pee, but sometimes it’s feeding time for the furry beasts or some other random act of bad planning on my part. Thanks to my constantly full bladder, I really appreciate the benefits of a good fast drying top coat!
When I saw that Flower has introduced a Quick Dry Top Coat, I figured there was little to lose and picked up a bottle for a test. I was actually quite shocked by how well it performs! At only $5.98, I really wasn’t expecting much. Most cruelty free top coats that I’ve tried will get tacky in a few minutes and some will be dry to a gentle touch. However, try to do much and your manicure is ruined. Not with this baby! It literally seems to dry completely in just a minute or two. And I use a thick coat! Out of every top coat I’ve tried, this one is by far the fastest drying…and a life saver! J
So, Flower ticks the box when it comes to fast drying, but another important factor is shine. I’m not expecting gel nails or anything, but I do want a nice glossy finish from my top coat too! Again, Flower totally nailed this one (unintentional pun there). It dries to a nice high-shine without being gloopy or doing anything weird to the polish underneath. It’s absolutely fantastic and can give any other high-shine top coat a good run for it’s money!
Durability is probably my least important factor when choosing a top coat because I’m weird like that, but I’m sure most people only bother with a top coat to help prolong the wear. I’m not the best test when it comes to wear time and polish because my nails themselves chip and peel like crazy, but I have noticed this problem a lot less with the Flower Top Coat. And though I can’t be certain, my polish does seem to last longer with it as well! Freakin’ fantastic!!!
I am seriously blown away by the Flower Beauty Quick Dry Top Coat! It literally has every quality that’s most important to me in a polish. Not to mention, the brush is good – not too thin, not too wide. The cap is easy to hold – you can remove the white rectangular piece to reveal a more standard “handle.” And, of course, it is cruelty free, the formula is just fantastic, and the price is unbelievable. The only thing that I would change is that it’s a 3-free polish instead of 5-free. It’s not a deal breaker for me, but I would prefer it to be free of as many weird chemicals as possible. Other than that, it is truly perfection! Insanely good job Flower! This Quick Dry Top Coat is by far the absolute best top coat I have come across!
