Five on Friday: Majella Nolan

By Blondeambition @BrookeFalvey

Five on Friday: Majella NolanFor the past couple of months I’ve been working out with the team at Body Smart Exercise Physiology in Paddington. Through a weekly mix of reformer Pilates classes and gym sessions with a trainer, they’ve been helping me slowly regain my fitness and re-develop my muscles (well, develop muscles). I used to loathe going to the gym, but these guys have made it enjoyable, sometimes hilarious, and I am a huge fan of reformer Pilates for strengthening and toning (as well as improving my posture) so I thought I’d introduce you to some of the team, starting with Majella Nolan.

Describe yourself in five words.
Hard but fair, fun.

How did you end up owning an exercise and rehabilitation clinic?
I fell into it, I hurt my back (went to every Physio in Paddington and nothing worked long-term) and my friend was going to a little gym in Paddington which has an Exercise Physiologist. I had never heard of the profession but after a year or two of training we became good friends and I said he should start his own business, which he ended up doing. Body Smart starting growing, which lead me to resign from my job at the Broncos after 10 years!

What do you love most about your job?
Helping people and having a positive impact on their lives.

What did you eat ‪for breakfast today‬?
Weet-bix.

What’s your favorite way to exercise and why? At Body Smart because it’s in a safe environment.

What goals do you have for 2017?
To do the splits on the Pilates Reformer.

Describe your favorite way to spend a Sunday?
At my parents farm or the coast.

Are you organised or messy?
Organised.

What is your favorite holiday destination and why?
New York City! So many great things to-do!

And because Majella claims not to have any more photos of herself, here’s me rocking the reformer.
