With Mother's Day just a few sleeps away, there was no one I could feature for Five on Friday other than my wonderful mum, Kim. Here's a little insight into the woman who made me who I am today.
Describe yourself in three words...
Caring, reliable and slightly nutty.
What is one of your favourite childhood memories?
My dad's hugs.
What is your favourite part of being a mother?
I am enormously proud of the wonderful, kind and caring adults my children have become.
What's your one piece of advice for new mothers?
Love each moment as time flies by so very quickly.
Do you remember your first fashion buy?
I spent my whole first pay-packet on a layered skirt and t-shirt from Splendiferous.
What's one thing your wish you had known about parenting BEFORE you became a parent?
That I wouldn't put myself first again (by choice), and that my happiness would be directly related to my children's happiness.
Describe your favourite way to spend a Sunday...
Relaxing at home, reading or catching up on my favourite TV shows.
What's your ideal mother's day gift?
I love cards, so a card and perhaps a beauty voucher.
Are you organised or messy?
Super organised.
What's your favourite holiday destination and why?
It would be a dream come true to spend three months in Positano, Italy, but Gwinganna Health Retreat is my favourite. I love everything there; the food, exercise and the escape from the busyness of life.
Who are your beauty and style inspirations?
When I was a young hairdresser, I had a client Sue who was just lovely and so elegant. And I also have a friend who is a little older than me, Sandra, who has aged with such grace, but mostly my fashion is my own with some input from my very stylish daughter, especially when it comes to my fashion boo boos.
What do you wish you'd done differently in your life?
I wish I had kept up with my piano lessons.
Who is your favourite child?
Ha! I am very lucky because I have a favourite daughter AND a favourite son!
