Five Must-Have Bathroom Features

By Simonea

Hi! I am Anna and I blog over at My Bathrooms Blog to share ideas for creating and maintaining one the most important rooms of your house....your bathroom!

ImageSourceBathrooms are, first and foremost, practical places. We need bathrooms to relieve ourselves, clean ourselves and to relax ourselves (and in mothers’ cases, to get a few moments to ourselves, perhaps!), but they do not have to be dull and boring. Here is how to add that oh-so-important aesthetic note to your bathroom décor.
  1. What a Shower!

ImageSourceMany bathrooms these days feature showers, but often they have been added on to an existing bathroom and can be smaller than desired and offer a rather cramped aspect. Rather than try to hide your small shower, invest in a good-looking shower curtain and paint the interior of the shower in a bright, light shade to open it out and make it appear more spacious.
  1. Stow It!

Bathroom storage is vital, not only to keep your bathroom supplies handy and secure, but for bathroom users to keep their toiletries, towels and other bath-time paraphernalia. For a decadent touch of luxury, invest in some heated towel racks to ensure that hopping out of a lovely warm bathroom does not mean becoming chilled as you towel off!
  1. Sweet Bathroom Suite
ImageSourceIf your bathroom is small or even average sized you are best off choosing a fitted bathroom suite. Most manufacturers are aware of the need for small bathroom sets and nearly all of them offer neat and compact sets. With a little research and budgeting you are sure to find the perfect bath for almost every size and shape of bathroom.
  1. Accessory Pack

Every bathroom, no matter how big or small needs an accessory set. Look out for a great selection of complementing bathroom accessories from My Bathrooms like; Toothbrush holders, soap dishes and even hand soap dispensers as they should be attractive and matching to help to complete the look and feel of the bathroom, as well as catering for the needs of all the bathroom users.

  1. Room with a View

SourceIf possible, arrange your bathroom around the view from the window, as long as the view is one that you enjoy looking at! If there is no window (or the view is not a pleasant one), then ‘make’ one with a large landscape picture or wall decal from All Posters. If possible arrange the bathroom so that the pleasant image and the mirror are facing one another. This will make it appear that the bathroom is almost an island surrounded by the forest, beach or mountain – whatever you have chosen as your bathroom’s background. Your mirror should be large enough to open out the dimensions of the bathroom, even as it reflects back the beauty of the décor. All that, and helping you to look good too!
