The first footage of Stephen King's The Dark Tower is coming in this October.
According to a report on EW popfest homepage, a special event is being tossed by EW running from October 29th through the 30th, they have uncovered that they will disclose the first look at the upcoming film. There is no word on what the "first footage" will look like.It is possible that a single scene could be shown to generate buzz for the movie. The important thing to note is that EW popfest is an in person event and there has been no indication as to whether or not the footage will be released online or not.
With that many potentially big films aiming to hit theaters in what was previously thought to be a dumping ground for studios’ lesser offerings, could this mean a change in the release date for the latest King adaptation? The film has seemed to be on a tight schedule from the get-go, and while there have been no reports that it has had any adverse effects on the production, one has to wonder if it or any of the aforementioned films will shift to a less crowded release date.
The Dark Tower is scheduled to open in U.S. theaters on February 17, 2017.
