Figure Study in Pink

Holidays... And first post of the year. 
I had the chance to enjoy the rain - very persistent! - and then more time in the studio. 
Pursuing the pastel painting surface experiment. I bought some canvas boards in an Art shop, and primed them with pastel ground, trying to get closer to the surface I obtained on my last painting. After a couple of trials, I could obtain what I was looking for.

I hesitated - not to say struggled... on the color variation for the background, and I had to rework several time the upper area - happy to observe the pastel ground was taking corrections really well. 
A break from portrait studies and back to Figure painting : a pretext to use pastels and experiments on colors. I will try another color set on this format, soon, if time allows...
