Fig and almond milkshakeAs days are getting longer and hotter all we need is various thirst quenchers.Though store ought drinks are convenient and handy,they are definitely not healthy.Loaded with sugar and synthetics is not so good to stock up on them,instead try preparing fresh juice and milk shakes at home and you will find yourself coming up with some unusual yet very tasty combos.Homemade beverages are not only tasty,they are very healthy and you can totally take the control over the choice of ingredients and make it suitable for your taste and health.Today I made this milkshake with dried figs and almonds,which turned out to be very rich,thick and really creamy without ice cream. I generally do not prefer my milkshakes with ice cream expect for strawberries.Fig milkshake is laughably simple to make yet stands out in all aspects,flavor,color and taste. Here I have used vanilla for flavor,but you can use cinnamon,cardamom etc as per your choice.Over to the recipe now :)

Star ingredients: Dried fig and whole almonds
Time:5 minutes
Serves:3
Ingredients:
2 cups boiled cooled milk
6-7 dried figs
10 whole almonds
Vanilla bean scrapped
2 tablespoons sugar or honey
Saffron (optional)
Fig and almond milkshakeMethod:
1.Soak almond and figs in 1/4 cup hot milk for 1-2 hours.
2.Grind to a smooth paste along with the soaked milk and sugar.
3.Add the remaining milk,vanilla and saffron and mix well.Blend till frothy and refrigerate
4.Serve chilled
Notes:
1.Along with almonds you can add walnuts
2.Try adding cinnamon for a different flavor.
3.Use almond milk and avoid honey for vegan version.
