Fascinatingly Fickle Friends ...

It's a new year, so you're bound to have hundreds of bands propelled your way as a human being, and as a listener. We're here to start it all off, and to relieve some of the sieving you'd normally have to do, here's a brand new band, called Fickle Friends, and their brilliant single, SWIM.
It's very immediate to kick off, and not what we'd consider to be a 'grower'. You'll know from the very first few seconds whether or not this is up your street, but there are definitely some comparisons that we would make in order to allow you to see if it is likely to appeal.
The names Theme Park, Mausi, and actually, specifically, Get Lucky, by Daft Punk comes to mind. There's a funkiness to it that we haven't heard much like recently in the mainstream, apart from maybe The 1975, and actually, we'd say they compare too, except for the obvious change in vocals ... for, this is fronted by a woman.
It's a really fun track, and that is very important. As one of the most depressing months of the year, January is known for despair, failed resolutions, and a little bit of misery, therefore, with a band and a track like this, it shows that some of us are still trying hard to make you smile, and we think the feeling it gives off is worth its own weight in gold this January.
We're sure going to be keeping an eye on Fickle Friends this year, as we reckon they're gonna make a few things happen in 2014.
