Exquisitely Elegant – a Wedding at Kew Gardens

By Claire

Claire and Nick chose the gorgeous setting of Kew Gardens for their wedding and were blessed with glorious sunshine for their elegant celebration.

Claire chose a simple theme with pure white hydrangeas to complement her flowing wedding gown, which is a stunning white dress with a jewelled, plunging neckline and exquisite back detail: the loose back of the dress makes for a ‘Greek goddess’ designer style with the backdrop of Kew completing the naturally elegant feeling for the day.

Documentary wedding photographer Martin Beddall submitted these beautiful images for the English Wedding blog. I love them: Martin’s informal reportage wedding photography style means there’s a relaxed feeling to the pictures.

With reportage wedding photography the focus is always on you and the story of your wedding day, as told in fleeting glimpses of emotions, key moments and the enjoyment of the occasion. Martin Beddall is, for me, one of the best.

Cambridge Cottage is where Claire and Nick were married, and is an exclusive use wedding venue. A former royal residence, Cambridge Cottage is elegant and caters for up to 80 guests for a ceremony and reception, and up to 170 for an informal cocktail reception or standing buffet.

Martin Beddall explains his approach to documentary wedding photography as “Good photography is about storytelling – it’s as simple as that. It is about the day in a series of memorable pictures. It is about the people, the characters, the incidents, the events, the emotions, the warmth, the details – above all, the essence and the spirit of the day.”
