Expedition Focus: Brazil 9,000
I was recently emailed by Gareth, half of a pair of adventurers that make up the Brazil 9,000 Expedition. The two friends, and experienced Amazon explorers, Gareth and Aaron are looking to set a world first, traveling from the Northern border of Brazil to the Southern; human powered for 5,500 miles/9,000 kilometers.
Starting in September they expect the expedition to last 15 months, traveling on foot, by canoe and by bike; their route is shown below:

You can find out all about their expedition here: http://brazil9000.com/about/. It's set to be an exciting adventure to follow and the pair have promised to update us throughout via their website and their blog/twitter/facebook pages.
As mentioned above, these two aren't new to the hardships of traveling in the jungle, and filmed a fantastic short film of their first expedition. Such a fantastically made short will doubtlessly leave you wanting more - luckily they'll be filming throughout the Brazil 9,000 Expedition!
