Heating and air Conditioners are an integral part of our society as they allow us to continue to be productive even during the most extreme of cold or hot weather. Those who operate heaters and air conditioners know that they can often increase your power bill by a fairly large amount. This used to be the case for most everyone but in recent decades large strides in energy efficiency have been achieved by the companies that produce air conditioners. These efficiency improvements have led to benefits such as reduced power usage and reduce power bills. The reasons to own a modern energy efficient air conditioner are obvious to most everyone. Still, for those that don’t fully comprehend the benefits allows me to instill upon you what knowledge I have on this subject.
1. Better Performance
Energy efficient air conditioners are not simply doing the same amount of work with less energy; they are often doing more work with less energy. With technological improvements in air conditioner technology like dual stage compressors and variable speed air handlers these modern air conditioners can provide an entire residence with proper cooling all while using less energy.
2. Longer Life Span
By owning an energy efficient heating and air conditioning unit you will receive a longer operating lifespan as long as not crazy storms or man-made events occur. This longer life span is largely attributed to the fact that these energy efficient units do not have to switch from on and off as often as simpler low efficiency units. Chalk it up to another advantage for energy efficiency.
3. Lower Energy Bill
This is the most important and convincing part for homeowners today. The fact is that this increased energy efficiency will positively impact your power bill. This is all dependents on the actual efficiency rating of the unit you choose, and likewise the higher the efficiency the bigger a difference on your power bill.
Conclusion
When looking over the advantages that high energy heating and air conditioners provide when compared to older outdated units it’s painfully apparent which one is better. Fact is the reduced power usage is positive for a host of different factors. Obviously most consumers will be happy enough with the cost savings. Still some consumers will be attracted to the environmentally conscious choice they are making when choosing a high energy efficiency unit. Then throw in the fact that these units need to do less work in order to provide better and more stable cooling or heating performance. Which means your household won’t be experience mornings waking up too cold or too hot as your unit won’t suffer to set the correct temperature. Now couple that with the fact that these energy efficient units last consumers longer and you have yourself a clear winner.
For those who own older homes and are thinking about possibly upgrading your home I honestly would recommend it. Heating and air conditioning is an important selling aspect of any home or building and an energy efficient unit will always be more attractive to any potential buyer.
