Elemis Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm.Elemis Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm.I am huge fan of cleansing balms and I am also a huge fan of Elemis, so when I discovered they were bringing out the Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm I did a little dance.
This balm dissolves make up and daily grime and is formulated with a 100% active base of natural oils grown within the UK. It contains starflower, elderberry and optimega oils with rose and mimosa waxes, and anti-ageing padina pavonica. These help to deeply cleanse and nourish the skin as well as leaving it smooth and glowing.
Well I am going to jump in there and say straight away that it does everything is claims too which can be rare from a product. I use this most mornings and evenings and I just can't get enough. I apply it to dry skin and massage it in, the texture of the balm feels quite thick to begin with and needs warming up. I then dampen my hands and massage again, this turns the balm into a milky texture which I then remove with a muslin cloth.
One of the things I love about this is that it leaves no residue, it completely removes all dirt and make up and leaves your skin feeling clean without drying it out.
I do believe this would be great for all skin types and especially those of you who have combination to oily skins and can sometimes find balms too rich.
It has quite a herbal smell which has actually grown on me over time but I wouldn't say I loved it. I would say if scent is something that's important to you give it a sniff first.
The one downside I do have is that you may want to be careful when using it around your eyes. It does actually say to avoid the eyes on the package but I like to use balms all over as a quick way to remove make up. I get on ok with it but if my eyes are feeling sensitive it can make them sting slightly, so something to watch out for. For me this is a small downside as I can just use this as my second cleanse if necessary and remove my make up with me first cleanse.
The Pro Collagen Cleasning balm can also be used as a 10 minute treatment mask. I have only tried this once but had great results so will be doing it again. It gave my skin that extra boost and glow after a late night, it's the perfect pick me up for the skin.
As I said I truly love this balm, it is on the pricey side at £39.50 but I think it is well worth the splurge. I have been using it for quite a few weeks now and I have only made a slight dent in it so can imagine it will last some time.
I would love to know if you have tried this yet?
