Ingredients
- egg hard boiled - 3 nos
- Onion - 4 (2 finely chopped and 2 roughly chopped)
- Tomato - 3(1 finely chopped and 2 roughly chopped)
- ginger garlic paste - 1 teaspoon
- green chilli - 1 no
- turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- red chilli powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- coriander powder - 1/4 teaspoon
- garam masala - 1/4 teaspoon(optional)
- poppy seeds - 1 teaspoon
- fennel seeds - 1 teaspoon
- grated coconut - 1 to 2 teaspoon
- bay leaf - 1 no
- cinnamon stick - 1/4 inch stick
- oil - as needed
- salt - to taste
- coriander leaves - for garnishing
- In a kadai,heat 1 teaspoon of oil and add roughly chopped onions,green chilli to it and saute it well.
- Ginger garlic paste is added to it and it is followed by roughly chopped tomatoes to it.
- then add poppy seeds and grated coconut to it and switch off the flame.cool the mixture and grind it to a fine paste.
- Now heat oil in same kadai,then add fennel seeds along with bay leaf and cinnamon stick to it.
- After they splutter,add finely chopped onions and saute it till it get soft.
- Then add finely chopped tomato to it and cook till it get soft and mushy.
- Then add turmeric powder,red chilli powder and coriander powder and add little water to it.
- Now add the paste which we ground before and make a thick gravy like sauce from it by adding enough water.
- Add garam masala in this stage and cook it till oil separates.Now add eggs either as a whole or divide into two halves into it and cover the kadai with the lid.
- Simmer it and cook for 2 minutes.Switch off the flame after 2 minutes and garnish it with chopped coriander leaves.
- serve it with steamed rice or with hot parathas.
