Whilst up in Edinburgh over Christmas we visited the German Christmas market on Christmas Eve. It was a lovely way to spend the morning and definitely got us in the festive spirit!
The market takes place on Queen’s Street in the park just below the Castle which is a beautiful setting for it and, with all of the Christmas smells and sounds it is very magical. The coldness of Scotland just makes that Christmas feeling even more real!
We had wanted to take Little Mr A on the skating rink but it was incredibly pricey so he had to make do with a go on the carousel with Big Mr A instead!
Unfortunately I don’t have many photos as it was freezing and I didn’t want to keep taking off my gloves! I think everyone was jealous of Little Miss A all snuggled up nice and warm!
After visiting the market we had a wander around Edinburgh taking in all the sights and sounds at Christmas and spotting all of the people in a last minute hurry to buy gifts!
It was really nice to get out and about in the fresh air and try to take Big Mr A’s Little Mr A’s mind off Christmas the next day!
The weather since we got home has been pretty rubbish so we haven’t managed to get out and about as much as we would have liked. I’m hoping to get back into a bit more of a routine once Little Mr A goes back to school next week and hopefully start having lots more outdoor adventures!
