Eco-friendly Kitchen Cleaning

For many of us, being environmentally friendly and living a green lifestyle is important, but so is keeping our home clean. We don’t want to use lots of harsh chemicals that damage the environment but we don’t want to compromise on the cleanliness of our home either.

The good news is that there are ways you can clean your kitchen, and products you can use, that will keep your kitchen worktops looking spick and span without causing lots of damage to the environment. Some kitchen worktops are easier to keep clean than others, of course. If you are looking for a new, easy-to-clean kitchen worktop or kitchen accessories, wrenkitchens.com has a wonderful selection and comes highly recommended.

For eco-friendly kitchen cleaning, make the most of the ingredients you already have in the kitchen cupboard. Salt, lemon juice, baking soda and even vinegar are not simply handy condiments or cooking ingredients! They can all be used to tackle stubborn stains in the kitchen and get your house looking sparkly and new, without polluting the environment like many chemical-based cleaning products do.

The other great thing about using natural cleaning products in place of buying modern cleaning sprays and polishes is that it vastly reduces the waste and pollution caused by packaging. And it will save you money too! Using cheap and basic food products that you already have in will cost you much less than buying pricey cleaning sprays.

Cut down on the water you use when cleaning the kitchen to be even more eco-friendly. You can achieve this simply by filling a bucket with warm water to clean with, rather than leaving the tap running continuously.

Wash cleaning cloths to use again rather than throwing them away, and cut up old towels to use as cleaning rags to further prevent waste.
