Eat My [Watermelon] Shorts

Me quoting a movie is a rare event, and when it happens, I find it to be really exciting. No one else seems to care…

I have a terrible memory and I usually can’t remember what I did yesterday, let alone remember a quote from a movie I probably saw ages ago. Yet The Breakfast Club has always been one of those movies that stuck with me. It may or may not be due to the fact I go to bed late, and it always seems to be playing between the hours of 12-3am.

For all you young-ins out there who have probably never heard, let alone watched, TBC (just typing that gave me gray hair), you probably should. Oh, and for the official record, “Eat my Shorts” did not come from the Simpson’s.

& now that I am done with my mini history lesson… let’s talk about something more interesting.

I collaborated with LuLu*s.com to craft up a cute and easy DIY project for summer, and these watermelon shorts are what we ended up with. I honestly just kind of winged this one and didn’t know exactly what was going to happen, but I guess that ended up working in my favor cause the end result is pretty radical.

Good timing too, fruit fashion seems to be popping up everywhere nowadays!

+ P.S. Next time you grab a slice of watermelon, sprinkle on some sea salt. It’s the only way to go. Trust. +
