I don’t often buy things at Lush. I shower instead of taking
baths so half of the products are of no use and a lot of the others just seem
overpriced to me. That said I absolutely love
their Fresh Face Masks. I was overjoyed to see a few new additions to the line
the last time I stopped in and obviously I had to get one. J After 20 minutes or so
of deciding…yes, I am that
indecisive…I finally settled on Lush’s Don’t
Look At Me Fresh Face Mask. I am so
glad I did! J
Why Don’t Look At Me you ask? Well, for one it’s an awesome
turquoise-blue. But let’s get past the sea goddess visions that danced through
my weird little mind and read the little pot’s description. J “Cleansing lemon juice
and scrubby ground rice will leave your skin with nothing to be shy about.” The
scrubby bits were really what sold me. I love a good exfoliant – both for how
it feels during and after, but also because a good one really makes the skin
look fresh and new. In addition to the toning lemon juice and the exfoliating
rice, this mask also contains murumuru butter to moisturize and tofu – yes,
tofu – to soften the skin! I love it when Lush adds weird ingredients like
that. J I
used a bit on my hand in store and indeed it scrubbed and softened so wonderfully!
Of course I used my new bright blue face mask as soon as I
had a chance! After using Don’t Look At Me, my skin instantly looked brighter
and I guess I’ll call it more alive. It was definitely softer and smoother as
well. The exfoliating was gentle enough to not irritate the skin, but ground
rice is apparently strong enough that you can feel it scrubbing and it
definitely removed dead skin. It was quite an enjoyable experience actually! J Once I had rinsed all
the lovely goo off of my skin, it definitely was not only brightened and
scrubbed clean, but it was so soft! I would say that is the biggest
difference I noticed between this mask and other exfoliating masks. Your skin
doesn’t just feel smoother from the exfoliation. There is definitely a benefit
from the murumuru butter and the tofu. It gives a nicely softened and
well-hydrated feel. It doesn’t feel at all greasy, but my skin just felt so
nice! It also didn’t make my skin too pink to use in the morning, which is
sometimes an issue. I want to use it every day! J
I am definitely a huge fan of the new Don’t
Look At Me Fresh Face Mask from Lush!
Just a few notes if you’re new to Lush Fresh Face Masks.
They are indeed fresh! There are no preservatives in them so you need to keep
them in the refrigerator and they are only good for about two weeks. I don’t
think I’ve ever quite made it through an entire mask before it “expired,” which
is unfortunate. On the other hand, these masks are pretty inexpensive for Lush
starting at $7.95 and going up to $12.95. Not inexpensive, but not terrible
either. They are generously sized (2.1oz) and contain only natural ingredients.
If you’re in a Lush store, they usually have the sample display in the center
of the store and hidden away somewhere is a little refrigerator with the actual
pots you buy. If you can’t find them, just ask. It’s also a good idea to find
out when the store receives fresh shipments so you can snag them right away and
have your mask fresh as long as possible. These masks are also only sold in-store
since they need refrigeration. Perhaps best news of all, if you bring 5 Lush
pots back to the store for recycling, you get a face mask for FREE!!! I haven’t
tried a Lush Fresh Face Mask that I haven’t liked, so definitely give them a
go!
