Actually, I would call myself more of a perfume collector...you know like antiques collector or coins collector...so yea..a perfume collector... :P
Anyways, about a month or two ago, my hubby got me YSL Parisienne . Technically that should have sufficed for another 3-4 months...but.....but...the Shopper's Stop sale happened! :P
So amazingly, they had perfumes at 20-50% off, just for one day!!!! I had my eyes on D&G The One (ever since I saw the lovely Scarlett Johansson advert) but it was too costly (around INR 6000!!!). But this day, it was on SALE!...yay..**my heart applauds** **happy me!!**
So I eneded up paying ta-dum-ta-da.....INR 3000 ONLY!!!!!!..
I know, I know...It is available online for similar rates...But I do not trust online sites when shopping for perfumes. I had a sad experience not once but twice... :( ...the first time I received the bottle with chipped cap and banged up box...the second time..the perfume had gone bad...yep they change color and go bad when kept in heat/light!
Ok, I am done with the essay....and now...D&G..The One..
EDITED PIC
"As it was envisioned by designers, The One is a fragrance for an exceptional woman who instantly draws attention, not only with her looks, but also with her manners, pose and inner world. This fragrance, like all of the fragrances of D&G house, is a 'fragrance with character', special and alluring. Its oriental floral-fruity composition is very warm and sensual with powdery vanilla trace. The color of the fragrance perfectly matches its tone."
"The composition opens with softly fresh mandarin, bergamot, litchi and peach. The heart is thin and balmy, with the notes of jasmine, lily of the valley and white lily which graciously intertwine with the fruity touch of plum. The woodsy-powdery base is created of vetiver root, amber, musk and vanilla. The One was created in 2006."
Haha!...I always find these illustrations by the company funny...I just added it for the "Idea" the designer and the maker had for it.
UNEDITED PIC :)
The bottle is very classy...and very heavy, where the perfume is just 75ml. I think that might be the only size available. They do not do 100ml for this one.
Ahh..it just smells so divine! The fragrance is very strong, so a single spray is more than enough. It lasts and lasts on me. I could smell it the next morning on my wrist! It has strong sillage...and people can smell it on you from feets....so yea...single spray is enough.
The major notes that I can detect are Vanilla, Jasmine, definitely some peach and blackcurrant..the dry down is sexy Musk with Amber and Vetiver. The Vanilla stays from start to finish. This is a very wholesome fragrance, some may find it heady..as it it really intense.
WHO MIGHT HATE IT:
- If you are not really into classics like Guerlain or Chanel( which make strong scents)...and love girly fruity and flirty scents.
- You hate Vanilla or Jasmine or both. ( it's major-ley Vanilla start to finish)
- Who get headaches from heady floral's and gourmand scents.
WHO MIGHT LOVE IT:
- Loves Vanilla, Jasmine
- Can carry heavy scents effortlessly
- Dose not categorize scents according to age. (PS- Scarlett Johansson was 24 when she started endorsing it)...Elizabeth Taylor scents are an exception of course.. :P
- Who have, like me, fallen in love with the beautiful flacon...
This one is absolutely a fall/winter perfume. It is strong, long lasting and warm. Not exactly a casual wear...more like a formal event scent..but hey...play it as you like...
Definitely worthy of a sniff-sniff in D&G counter.
And now.....one last look...
..to finish off..the classic advert of Scar-Jo for The One...
