DIY That Denim

By Sandrastanek @Sandrastanek
I'm probably actually becoming sick of just watching movies or almost always using technology in my free time (almost, unless I'm sleeping) so yesterday I decided to make a big change and do something useful. I was actually surprised what got into my head but I'm happy I had that kind of a DIY day. Friday night I cut my old Levi's jeans into shorts and I had a huge amount of denim to work with which I just didn't want to throw out, therefore I decided to actually be useful, for once (because today I'm back to the old me, except my fingers hurt from being jabbed with a needle, several... okay, many times). So here's the DIY denim thingie number one that I've been wanting to get so badly but haven't seen a good one that I would actually like. It took me a long time and my fingers are swollen, I dare you to say you don't like it.
DIY that denim My famous idiot-description of the obvious again. My first DIY is a collar necklace. Woohoo. And this is the view on just a tiny part of my table while I was working. I didn't take a picture of the whole table because it is very likely you could get a heart attack if you've seen it. However, this is the DIY in process when my fingers were still fine. And yes I'm bringing it up again because it hurts even when I'm typing and now I'm trying to use my middle finger instead of the forefinger. Feels weird and slow. And this entire statement sounds just wrong. DIY that denim  To get you more familiar with the whole Peter Pan collar process, Here's how I was continuing till the late hours of night working hard just like Cinderella. I initially wanted to just leave it like this, but then I thought if I'm already spending so much time on it, I want it to stand out so now it's all studded and it looks GOOD. Yes, I'm very proud because this is like the first DIY since I was 4 and had shitloads of time to do anything I wanted except for some hours I had to spend in kinder garden... till 12 pm. What a pain. Outfit pictures with the collar on soon, I wore today right away, what did you think - I had to show off duh.
The second gorgeous but more tricky DIY I made is a clutch. Yup, a clutch. But don't expect anything like Proenza. And also don't expect it to last for longer than one night out with more than 10 grams on. Just kidding, 15g.
DIY that denim So, this is supposed to be the 'in process' photo, however I was so fast I didn't even have time to take pictures!! How incredible. Let's just pretend this is 'in the process' photo again not to ruin the spirit of the whole DIY thing. And don't expect me to give you tips on how to do these because I suck at these things. Especially sewing and zippers (see right). And even if I was to give you instructions on how I made it, it would be plagiarism so I'm just going to talk you through my DIY day without it. Hopefully you will survive without too.
DIY that denim And voila, finito! This is the real deal. Let's just pretend you haven't seen the finished piece before and be all surprised. I like big clutches however, my legs are not THAT wide to allow me to make a wider clutch, comprehensible? But actually I could've taken a picture because the every finished result is right here in front of me. I sewed on one more thingie you put the other thingie through (don't you just love the way I explain things?) and it took me unbelievable 2,433532 minutes and I was watching movie with it at the same time, isn't that amazing? Getting away from the sarcastic part, I actually hope to maybe but not really combine it with one of my outfits again as I went emergency summer dress shopping yesterday because I realized summer holidays are thiiiiiis close. Next on my things-to-do list - shoes hunting. That's going to be a though one here in our 'village' country. To that , have a great week!
