Unique?… Nope. Must Have?… Yep.

Jorts are a serious must have, unless you’re a guy. Shockingly, denim shorts can be stylish. When paired with a slouchy tee, scarf, and pointy flats, you have a stylish daytime outfit (hello Starbucks and Target). Obviously, DIYing jorts is self explanatory… but here’s how I turned the most absurd pair of jeans into wearable denim shorts.

I was ordering some sneaks from Old Navy a few months ago (they’re cheap and it’s good to switch up running shoes), and I needed to make $50 to get the free shipping. I just cannot handle paying for shipping, I don’t know why but I will always add items to my cart to qualify for free shipping. Anyway, I’ve been loving boyfriend jeans so I decided to add a pair that happened to be on sale. Big mistake. When the jeans arrived, they were like hardcore mom jeans. I put them on, laughed hysterically, and marked where I wanted to cut with a sharpie. If it wasn’t for my painted nails in the photo above, I would totally think this was my grandfather.

These freaking jeans were a monstrosity. I wanted to make cuffed shorts, but that wasn’t working out… they resembled a diaper. So, I had to cut them shorter. I still see a little bit of diaper in these jorts, but it’s stylish and subtle (like MAYBE something Alexa Chung would wear).

Although my jorts eventually worked out, I’ve learned my lesson. I will never ever order anything from Old Navy again… no matter how good the deal is.
Don’t want no Iny weeny teeny weeny shriveled little short jorts man.
