DIY Bejeweled Skirt (Dolce & Gabbana Inspired)

By Invisiblestilettos
Good day darlings :)  How did your weekend go?  I just made a simple project today.  I was browsing the internet when I saw this skirt and this one too, both from Dolce and Gabbana.  I think I fell in love.  I wanted to make something similar, so I went straight ahead to my favorite fabric store and whipped up this skirt.  The design I made was obviously much simpler than the two because I wanted it to be wearable, something I could wear to church or at the mall and not something that you could only wear on the runway. I loved how it turned out, simple yet chic.  I used an old pencil skirt that I already have and updated it by adding some jewel buttons.  Want to know how I did it?DIY Bejeweled Skirt (Dolce & Gabbana Inspired)Here's how.  First, gather your materials:
1.  Jewel buttons.
2.  Scissors
3.  Thread and needle
4.  SkirtDIY Bejeweled Skirt (Dolce & Gabbana Inspired)The first step is to lay the skirt on a flat surface.  Next, get your jewel buttons.  I got mine from a local craft store.  The button has a flat back and two small buttons on each end.  Decide on what color combination you want.  I went with primary colors, yellow, red, and blue.  Now, just play around, create your own pattern and design.  I decided to just put buttons at the waist line area and at the bottom of the skirt.DIY Bejeweled Skirt (Dolce & Gabbana Inspired)Next, get your needle and thread.  I used black thread for this project since my skirt is black.  This would make the color stand out and the thread would blend nicely to the color of the skirt.  I made multiple passes on the button holes to secure the button in place.DIY Bejeweled Skirt (Dolce & Gabbana Inspired)This is how it looked like after.  I love how the buttons gave new life to my old skirt.  I wore this with a black shirt but I think it would look good with white as well.DIY Bejeweled Skirt (Dolce & Gabbana Inspired) Hope you liked today's project!  I think this skirt just cost me about 75 pesos ($1.50).
See, looking "chic" does not need to be expensive :)
Have a great week ahead!
