Disney Khoobsurat, A Review

Khoobsurat. Ok, first ,no one sponsored our tickets and I am not being paid to review this movie. Second, the Fawad Khan wave has sorta dislocated a lot of hearts and minds in the school that I teach in....and I am not even talking about the girls. Wise, old teachers are also reliving their youth with Humsafar and Zindagi Gulzar Hai. Third, I am waiting for Humsafar and 14 October...What?I am wise ,yes...But who said that I was old?Ok ,exams over, more stress is laid on the teachers. Corrections and Marks postings online and explanations as yo why my class has just 3 A1 grades...I needed a break. A khoobsurat break. So after all the papers were submitted we drove to the movies. Khoobsurat. Fawad Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Kirron Kher and Ratna Pathak Shah and a motley crew of great actors.
Loud and coloursensational Sonam Kapoor's expressions are cute to a certain extent. She needs a little restraint. A super clean movie with Sonam looking like a neon nattily dressed princess who is quite the bewadii...or a girl who loves her wine (which girl doesn't love wine? ),she is adorable most places.
 Fawad Khan, on the other hand is dreamy but starved. Did the unit not feed you dude??
He needs his old weight back. Super suave and dapper with awesome suits and loafers and jodhpurs and Nehru jackets ,his style is fresh and natural. A little more of him would have been great. We didn't even get to see him dance....a là Bollywood. Sarabhai is still written on Ratna Pathak Shah ,but her eyes still shake the socks off you.But the best was Manju.I admire this feisty Punjaban. She is fantastic, and her one liners took the cake and the frosting and the fondant. Awesome. Royal Kanjar Khandaan. For once ,I'm glad I have some Punjabi blood.I'll be watching this movie again. All for Manju. And she's the mom, who has made sure all moms announce their phone calls with Maa Ka Phone Aaya...Kirron Kher is like good wine. Getting better every time. Kudos.No comments on the direction. Lalgarh Palace looks sensational and the Bikaner fort looks great. The vintage cars are great too...and so is the much in need of a physiotherapist Shekhar uncle. But its still Fawad Khan and Kirron Kher.Khoobsurat. 3 stars/5 and 30 of them go to these two.  Now is someone sponsoring a second viewing and a cold coffee to go???
