Things are surely a bit different with the second child. I remember that both me and my husband were quite obsessed with making sure that our firstborn developed according "the book". We downloaded the app Wonder Weeks (a great app by the way about the mental development of babies) and read each leap closely comparing it with our baby's development. It was really important that he could walk by his first birthday and so on. With our second child it is quite the opposite. It's almost as if we want him to stay little for as long as possible. This might seem strange, I know, but somehow I think it's quite common. I mean, I am pretty sure that we won't have any more children, and by knowing that it's quite sentimental thinking about this being our last baby. I just love them so much.
