Delhilites love Chole bhature and each of us have craved for it. We have often thought about – where should I have chole bature from, unless you satisfy your craving with your local joints that is close to your house. Well, I believe now you would definitely try to give these places a shot after having read it. You will not need to search for the best chole bhature.
This DGC hunt for best chole bhature in Delhi will answer it. 9 member team lead by Atul Sikand(Founder member of DGC and Admin of India’s best recipe based groupSikandalous Cuisine(https://www.facebook.com/groups/sikandalous/) started the hunt for best chole bhauture in town. It took little over 3 months to arrive at the decision and more than get more than 32 places were covered by juries. The list was compiled by our street food champion Mohit Balachandran of ChowderSingh and Sourish Bhattacharya of Indian Restaurant Spy. We followed certain guidelines to judge the best chole bhature. Here are the details:.
Cholle Judging Criteria(the highest number indicates highest points on a scale of 0 to x)
1. Taste of cholle on a scale of 10
2. Freshness of the cholle on a scale of 5
3. Was the chole cooked well? – (scale of 5)
4. Accompaniments along with chole and their quality on a scale of of 2
5. Was the chole too oily(scale of 4) – the highest number indicating less oil
Bhatura judging criteria
1. Taste of bhatura on a scale of 10
2. Freshness of the bhatura on a scale of 5
3. Thickness and sponginess of bhatura on a scale of 5
4. Was the bhatura too oily(scale of 4) – the highest number indicating less oil

This was entirely based on our criteria and based on the places that we had shortlisted. Of course we didn’t cover entire Delhi – just these 32 joints. Each of us have our favorite place and I too have mine, which we didn’t cover here. The hunt is complete and yet it’s still on……
