Despite the English weather not really giving us much to boast about this not going to be a negative rant about the climate. Instead, I am going to adopt a positive mental attitude and appreciate June in all its glory. This glorious month not only has 30 days but is also a host to the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. Other UK events in June include Trooping the Colour which is the military celebration of the Queen's official birthday, Fathers Day, and Go Skateboarding Day.
I decided to celebrate June by making a seasonal fruit smoothie that is sure to give you a healthy bounce in your stride. The only equipment you will need is a blender. I use this Sainsburys Kitchen Collection Blender and it did the job perfectly. Simply add them all into the jug and blitz until it reaches a consistency you are happy with. You can add yoghurt to the mix if you want it thicker, or add water/milk/orange juice to dilute. It really is as simple as that.
Ingredients:1 cup of frozen mixed berries 1 ripe banana150ml skimmed milk50ml orange juice
This recipe makes approx 1 pint, costs under £1 per portion and equates to 2 Weight Watchers Pro Points. It is incredibly easy to make and really delicious. What recipes have you discovered lately?
