Deeper Than A Diva ...

Ella Eyre, a name we have raved about since appearing on one of Bastille's free 'Other People's Heartache' Eps, has finally released her debut solo effort. It's often an incredible shame when someone whom has been hyped this much, releases a single, and it just doesn't meet your expectations. However, Ella, beautiful Ella, is most definitely not one of those people and her debut, Deeper, is one heck of a track!!
Deeper Than A Diva ...She quickly mixes a blend of Emeli Sande, Rudimental, and John Newman in delightful Jazz/Pop single. The music has a mixture of instruments that include those saxophones and what sounds like it could have begun on a piano, but, the vocal, like always, is like some sort of Goddess who knows exactly what she is doing. Her presence is epic and, whilst there are even elements of her time working with Bastille (in the deep vocal pitch changing), you can't help but realize just how brilliantly she has blended all of these things.
The fact is, it seems that Ella is very much someone who likes something punchy, catchy, but meaningful, and this is the absolute epitome of that concoction. You'll find that, after one or two listens, you'll be learning the lyrics and finding it very, very hard not to shout along in the car, though, if you listen a little harder, you can really appreciate the words she is choosing and, really respect the incredible woman who sings before you.
We've become a little obsessed with Ella since hearing her all that time ago and, now that we've been able to see her alongside Dan Smith in concert, we simply cannot wait for her debut EP, and what will surely come from this incredible songstress.
Paul.
