Day 2 in Pa: Trevelyan Farm and Pour Wine Bar

By Bigcitylittleblog @feakins

Day 2 on the farm started off with a walk around the farm. There’s a 1 mile trail between the pastures and through the woods with spectacular views of the farm.

52 acres of rolling pasture and blue skies. The cherry blossoms and the foals have come out for spring, which lends a charming and peaceful air to the farm. Ahh…. I love it.

We were even lucky enough to catch the yearling colts playing in the sun. They’re they equivalent of teenage boys: rambunctious, hormonal, awkward, lanky,  and full of energy. But they’re so sweet and they were having a blast.

After playing with the horses, Phil and I headed out to Pour on Prince- a downtown wine and tapas bar. We weren’t starving- just peckish- so we settled with a charcuterie board of muscovy duck liver mousse, beef bresaola, hudson flower  sheep cheese, and pata de cabra goat cheese. It was served with crusty italian bread and tangy mustard. We also couldn’t help but order their famous duck fat fries. They’re to die for. I washed it down with a nice cabernet while Phil sipped on a Lithuanian brew.

The waitress was kind enough to offer us miniature treats from Lancaster Cupcakes. They were leftover from another party and quite literally the icing on the cake. If you’re in the area, I would whole-heartedly recommend Pour. With small plates and an extensive wine and beer menu, it’s a great restaurant to enjoy with friends.

Afterwards, we retired to the back porch to sip champagne and enjoy the cool breeze with Mom. Check out more pictures from the farm here:
